Winter 2025: Temperature drop of up to 9°C in Mauritius

    The weather station predicts that winter 2025 will be cool, windy, and unsettled. At a press conference this Friday, Prithiviraj Booneeady, acting director of the weather station, announced that temperatures could drop to 9°C on some nights in the highlands of Mauritius, and to 13°C in Rodrigues, particularly during the passage of high pressure systems.

    During winter days, maximum temperatures will reach around 24°C on the central plateau and 29°C in the coastal regions. Minimum temperatures could drop to 17°C in the highlands and 19°C on the coast.

    In Rodrigues, maximum temperatures will be around 25°C in the highlands and 28°C along the coast, while minimum temperatures could drop to 18°C ​​on the plateaus and 20°C in the coastal areas.

    Rainfall is expected to remain close to the seasonal average. In Mauritius, approximately 600 mm of rain is expected, mainly on the central plateau, as well as in the east and south of the island. In Rodrigues, approximately 490 mm is forecast, with rain mainly concentrated in the highlands, particularly around Mont Limon.
