Did you know that the first programmable android was created back in 1774? During the time of Louis XVI, Swiss watchmaker Pierre Jaquet-Droz built an amazing invention called The Writing Boy.

At first, it looks like a small child holding a quill pen, but inside, it contains an astonishing 6,000 mechanical parts that allowed it to write actual sentences by hand!

After 20 months of painstaking work, The Writing Boy stunned the French court by writing out the words, “My inventor is Jaquet-Droz.” This remarkable creation stands as a true symbol of robotics, long before the word even existed.
